MaRK SLESSENGER: MESSAGE OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Mark has over twelve years experience running holistic development programmes in South African prisons. Through his experience, Mark has recognised the necessity for entrepreneurship training to reduce the high recidivism and unemployment rates of offenders. Mark received his BA in Theology from Stellenbosch University and MA in Organisational Leadership from Eastern University in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Mark will assist with the organisational and strategic development of MEP.


JENNIFER BELCHER: MEP ENTREPRENEURSHIP OFFICER

Jennifer is a California corporate attorney and international social entrepreneur. She received her J.D. from Loyola Law School and M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University. Jennifer currently represents domestic and international corporations and has helped launch social entrepreneurial projects worldwide. Jennifer has a passion for bringing strategic solutions and hope to the nations. Jennifer will help pioneer the entrepreneurship stream of MEP  and Gangstar Enterprise projects in Cape Town and beyond. 


PRESTON JONGBLOED: MESSAGE PRISONS TEAM LEADER

Preston joined The Message Trust in February 2015 and leads our Message In Prisons work across the Western Cape. Preston is deeply passionate about young people fulfilling their God-given potential. He is a motivational speaker to youth across Cape Town. Preston plays a leading role in overseeing the operational and strategic development of MEP.

 


KWANELE CEMENT: PASTORAL CARE

Kwanele is the Senior Pastor of New Crossroads Baptist Church in Nyanga and joined The Message Trust prisons team part-time in March 2014. Nyanga is one of the poorest and most dangerous parts of Cape Town and was recently labelled as the 'murder capital' of South Africa by a local newspaper. Kwanele is passionate about caring for offenders in and out of prison. Kwanele will oversee the pastoral care of the Message Entrepreneurship students through prayer, counselling and mentorship.


VUYO NYABAZA: PASTORAL CARE

Vuyo is a former Cape Town gangster who loves God and is very passionate about reaching young people in prison. He joined The Message in January 2015. He runs Bible study and discipleship classes with offenders and loves to mentor young men and sharing with them his story and about Jesus Christ.
